Jars Cantine Extra Small 5.7″ Appetizer Plate | Craie (White)

Handmade and hand-glazed by skilled artisans in the South of France, each piece of our stoneware is crafted from locally sourced mineral components. This meticulous process ensures that every step—from design to clay preparation, molding, glazing, and firing—takes place in a single location. This method guarantees perfect control over the entire process, preserving the century-old craftsmanship that results in exceptional durability and a distinctive design identity. At Jars, we make committed, sustainable choices every day. Our stoneware is composed of natural components and 100% homemade stoneware paste. All our products are lead and cadmium-free, ensuring they are safe for everyday use. We utilize a single-firing process, which significantly reduces energy consumption compared to the double-firing required for earthenware or porcelain. Jars is dedicated to creating beautiful, practical, and robust ceramic pieces with a perfect blend of technical precision and artistic sensitivity. Each item is designed for everyday use and is dishwasher and microwave safe. While we do not recommend using our products in the oven, some customers do so with care. To minimize risks, avoid sudden temperature changes of +/- 300°F in less than 10 seconds. For cleaning, the best method for removing ingrained stains is using baking soda. Our customer service team is always available to provide the best solutions for any issues that may arise. Founded in 1857 in Anneyron, in the South of France, Jars was established by Pierre Jars. He envisioned creating beautiful, useful, and durable objects, blending technique and sensitivity for everyday use. At Jars, we believe in the beauty of a well-set table, prepared with care, around which life unfolds with shared emotions and joyous moments. Our passion for the earth, meticulous craftsmanship, and attention to detail are core values that have persisted since our inception. From the initial drawing to the final firing, the creation of each ceramic piece involves ten steps, handled on average 21 times, ensuring a level of craftsmanship that makes each piece unique. No two items are exactly the same, each possessing its own individual character. Jars stands out by making conscious, sustainable choices in our production process: Using natural components. Crafting 100% homemade stoneware paste. Ensuring all products are lead and cadmium-free. Employing a single-firing method to reduce energy impact. This dedication to excellence and sustainability has been the hallmark of Jars for generations. Our products are more than just tableware; they are a testament to our heritage, craftsmanship, and commitment to creating beautiful, durable, and environmentally friendly ceramics.
